Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve, the first Nature Reserve in Britain, open for over 50 years and one of the last temperate rain forests in Europe, is only 16 miles away. Here is the home of Red Deer, Pine Marten and Golden Eagle ranging over grand ancient Caledonian pine forest, with woodland and mountain walks to the gleaming quartzite peaks of the Beinn Eighe ridge itself.
 
Flowerdale House The world-famous sub-tropical Inverewe Garden is a must for garden lovers. A Victorian labour of love by Osgood MacKenzie presenting 50 acres of some of the most exotic and beautiful woodland to be seen in Scotland, only 8 miles distant.
Gairloch area offers much for visitors, including a Golf Course, Pitch & Putt, a Tourist Information Centre, bank, museum, shops, leisure centre, swimming pool, post office, waterfalls, glorious sandy beaches, hill and mountain walking, sea trips, dolphin and whale safaris, sea angling, loch and river fishing, horse riding lessons and pony trekking over the beautiful Flowerdale estate. Permits for salmon and trout fishing, sea fishing tuition or Ghillie service may be arranged, as may the hire of fishing tackle, motor boats, canoes and bicycles. Yacht charter, sailing lessons, kayaking, mountain climbing and guided hill walking are all available locally
