NC500

The North Coast 500 is a 516-mile (830 km) scenic route around the north coast of Scotland, starting and ending at Inverness Castle. The route is also known as the NC500 and was launched in 2015, linking many features in the north Highlands of Scotland in one touring route. This route attracts visitors from around the world and is arguably one of the most popular coastal routes in the world today. We are very lucky as The Old Inn, Gairloch is in the heart of that route and a great place to stop. Gairloch is no longer just a passing point. As you will see on our local activities and walks page there are so many things for people to do here, on both land and sea.As the world is changing so is tourism as we know it. In 2021 we have seen many longer stay bookings with breaks of 5 to 10 nights becoming more popular.
