There are several spectacular sandy beaches, such as Redpoint, which offers lovely views to Raasay, Skye and the Western Isles, and an unforgettable sunset across the Minch. With plenty of rocky coastline to explore visitors might even occasionally see whales and seals offshore, as well as enjoying remarkable views spreading north to the volcanic peaks of Assynt.

We are lucky to be based on the west coast and pride ourselves in the very best of sustainably caught seafood delivered daily from our local harbour. The coastal village of Gairloch and the surrounding areas offer a little of everything, encompassing the very best of holidaying in the highlands. Visit Gairloch Museum, which opened its new premises in 2019, taking in the rich local history. Inland, your attention is drawn by the hills and mountains to the east, towards Loch Maree: and beyond it to one of Scotland's last great wildernesses, the Fisherfield Forest. To the back of The Old Inn the views extend to take in the peaks of the Flowerdale and Shieldag Forests and a "rear" view of Beinn Alligin, the most westerly of the Torridon giants.
